The NKJV says “lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight”.

We too often look at others and think of things that we wish we could change in ourselves. “I wish I had her eye lashes, I wish I had his hair, I wish I could be skinner like them…” and the list goes on. But the truth is, we are created in the image of God, so we need to learn to be content in our own skin. So stop comparing yourself, you are beautiful because you are created in the image of the Father.

“Let go of your past, so God can open the door to the future”….I love that! Too often we allow our past to hold us back, scared to take the next step! But, the truth of the matter is, that God has a plan and purpose for our lives, we just have to be willing to live in His plan instead of our own. Psalm 71:20 “you have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth”. No matter what hardships you are faced with, God is able to guide you through them. He will carry you when you fall, He will provide strength when you feel weak, and He will restore to you hope in the future. I have noticed, in my own life, that when times get hard, I often lose hope. But, God is so great and merciful, that He reminds me that my hope is found in Him. Yes, we all have a past, and yes, most of us would like to forget it- BUT, our past is what makes us who we are. God allows those hardships to come into our lives to make us stronger and to prepare us for the future that He has for us!
Maybe all God wants from you right now, is a willing heart. So do not be afraid to step out of the boat. Think back to Scripture when the disciples were in the boat, only one was willing to step out of the boat and trust that Christ would not allow him to fall. You are that ONE. You need to be willing to step out of the boat. Yes, it will be scary, but God will not allow you to sink. Sometimes its about just being willing to step out of the boat and onto the water- trusting that no matter what lies ahead that God will carry you through.
Our God is the God of love. He does not want to see your heart breaking, nor does He want you to live in your past. You have a future ahead of you- one that He paved JUST for you. Allow God to open the door for you, but be willing to step through it. He will never leave you, nor will He ever forsake you.
